BEING PATIENT IN LOVE (THIS VINTAGE GIRL SHORTCOMING)

Monday, 3 April 2017

Hello love, today I really just want to talk about myself today. I know the media world has helped shape peoples behavior pattern negatively and positively and most times we are painted in this perfect light, like persons without flaws and our dark sides shelved . Today I've decided to tell you mine, or one out of the multitude (covers face).

I've had issues on being patient with love: if you follow me on IG, you may have seen few comments on bae search and all, that is not to say I've not been in a relationship before, but I blot it out, reason? because it didn't last up to 5 months (yea don't give me that face). I cared about that person enough to have considered it a relationship. so now that the relationship is long gone, I'm here trying to see my flaws and one of it is i'm barely patient and with relationships its almost a zero tolerance level. I'm working on that though, I feel it takes a new level of maturity and grace and a walk in God that gives you that anointing.

Whenever I see young people wed, I have this strong admiration because a lot of work has been put for them to get to that level, which I am yet to learn. How do y'all cope with your shortcomings, and how do you overcome love trials?

Working on this post I decided to google biblical messages that backs up my view and I got this.
Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

  1. Honestly, I think I would rather be impatient with love than patient. I'm awfully patient and always dashing out second chances even when my partner is undeserving. I keep thinking. I love him and he loves me so really all that matters is that we're together. But that has had me overlooking a lot of unfair treatments and frank disrespect that wouldn't have been met out if I'd just left.

On the contrary, I admire people like you who can say no when they've had enough. I think that takes a lot of strength too. And you're sure you're definitely going to be treated the way that you deserve.

Sorry for the extremely long comment. Lol.

  2. I used to be like you. I said ' be like' cos i am now in a relationship. But I had to find not a perfect person but someone who is perfect for me. The truth is that once you are in a relationship with the right person, your fears and worries are doused!

  4. It is so funny how we have similar stories, I had been in a relationship but I always blot it out because it lasted only 7 months. It's been hard, I feel lonely most times, I ask myself if true love would ever find me....i can't to realise I had some faults, I am very defensive and a little standoffish.so I am working on that, I pray that God helps us to build that maturity and patience, and find someone who truly is looming for us.

    1. Aww, I dealt with my loneliness by reading a book and sometimes talking to friends or sleep. Yes we definitely will find someone who will loom for us

  5. Hi Grace,
I strongly believe there is nothing wrong in your attitude towards love. It clearly shows you're yet to be in tune with that aspect of your life. As a young woman in the same struggle, I did walk away from being bothered about that.
I began learning a new way of finding love that didn't involve a partner. It began with friends, I am still learning. But I did forgive myself for dragging along another human into my problem.
Hey, you'll find a 'twin flame' who will teach you more about love, the patience will glide in.

  7. Amazing post! Your honesty is very courageous, thank you for sharing. I often find that the right "love" or romantic interest comes when you're least expecting it/when it isn't your focus. Rather, focus on building your relationship and developing real intimacy with God so that He can guide you to cultivate the necessary skills to hold down a solid relationship like: patience, love, tolerance, kindness, gentleness, self control etc. This time of being "single" so to speak, is beautiful when you can embrace it and use it for good!
